Are you a highly skilled Technical Designer with a passion for detail and precision? LXA is seeking a talented Technical Designer to join our team, playing a pivotal role in bringing our creative visions to life through expertly crafted technical drawings and models.
As a Technical Designer at LXA, you will bridge the gap between design and delivery - producing detailed technical drawings using both CAD and BIM software. Working within our creative and technical teams, you'll be responsible for ensuring that every concept is translated into accurate, buildable, and code-compliant documentation.
Reporting to the Head of Technical & BIM, you'll collaborate across disciplines to develop coordinated drawing sets, manage models, and support every stage of project delivery. You'll also play a role in internal process development, mentoring, and business growth.
+ Translate design concepts into precise technical drawings and construction documents
+ Develop full drawing sets including plans, elevations, sections, RCPs, and detailed joinery/shop drawings
+ Maintain and coordinate CAD & BIM models with consultants and contractors
+ Ensure all work complies with relevant building codes, regulations, and internal standards
+ Support QA/QC processes and help refine internal drawing templates and libraries
+ Collaborate closely with designers, project managers, consultants, and contractors
+ Participate in site visits and field verifcations
+ Support the technical team with fee forecasting, time estimation, and internal resourcing
+ Represent the technical team in client meetings and presentations where required
+ Strong experience in CAD (AutoCAD) and BIM software (Revit)
+ A strong portfolio of technical drawing work, particularly in interior design or architecture
+ Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing
+ Knowledge of building codes and compliance standards
+ Confident communication with good presentation skills
+ Proactive and organised with excellent attention to detail
+ Experience in project coordination, time estimation, and technical resourcing is a plus
